Nawaz Sharif comes out all guns blazing against Imran’s ‘sponsors’, calls them ‘state above a state’

Nawaz Sharif Imran's sponsors

The convicted former Premier of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, who was permitted to fly to London under medical grounds in 2019 broke his silence and came out all guns blazing against Imran’s ‘sponsors’, as he is taking to the next level of his party mantra “vote ko izzat dou”. The Sharif said the opposition is not against current Prime Minister Imran Khan but those who had brought him into power in the 2018 elections.

Nawaz Sharif attended the All Parties Conference (APC) which was hosted by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) through video link, in which the former premier vowed that PML-N will follow all the principles set by the huddle.

The supreme leader of PML-N desired from all members of the APC to change from traditional politics and build a conclusive action in order to bring a real change in the country.

The leader of the Sharif family, who was recently declared an absconder by the court again claimed that the people’s mandate was stolen in the 2018 general elections.

“The current government, which is relying on crutches, wouldn’t have been formed if the results of the elections weren’t tampered with,” he claimed. “Handing over power to a few people is treachery.” In addition to this he also further said that citizens of Pakistan were mugged of their mandate without having any thought of consequences it will create for the country. “Pakistan has been turned into a laboratory for these experiments.” He said.

The leader of the PML-N also pointed out those dictators who had toppled the civilian government in the past and also mourned over the judge’s role who endorsed these illegal actions.

“Every dictator ruled for an average of nine years,” he said, but a civil prime minister is not allowed to work for more than two years. “Those who abide by the Constitution are dragged to courts and their families are subjected to harassment.”

The three times Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also revealed that even when the civilian government came into power, their hands were tied. He said, by quoting an example from former Pakistan Premier, “A former prime minister had once said that there was a state within a state in the country. Unfortunately, this has gone even beyond the authority of the state.”

A scathing attack on the performance of PTI’s Federal Government was also initiated by convicted Nawaz Sharif in which he highlighted the failures in foreign policy, apart from that he also condemned the current economic condition of Pakistan which create misery among middle- and lower-class citizens of Pakistan.

The former premier also mentioned the recent comments from Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi which affected Pakistan’s ties with Saudi Arabia. “Pakistan was one of the founding members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). We should be strengthening it along with other countries.” “We need to think about why our close allies have stopped trusting us,” he added.

While continuing his address to the APC members he said that India changed the Kashmir stance by taking benefit of the opportunity as puppet government is sitting in power. “We weren’t even able to protest (against the revocation of the special status of India illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir). We weren’t even able to convince the countries, which are our friends, to support us on the issue, let alone the world.”

The PML-N leader also pointed out that people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) are still being murdered by Indian forces. “Our foreign policy should not be in conflict with our national interests.”

Further talking about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) also revealed that PTI’s government is also lacking behind in the project and showing inefficiency as they did in Peshawar Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) System.

The PML-N leader also took notes on increasing crimes and anarchy in the country as Sharif quoted the latest incident of Sialkot-Lahore motorway gang rape as an example. “There was this heart-wrenching incident with a daughter of the nation and the government’s sympathies were with an CCPO Lahore.”

The Nawaz Sharif claimed that the country will remain economically crippled pending the respect for the vote is imposed. At the end of his speech in the APC, the convicted former Prime Minister stressed the need to strengthen the country’s armed forces and improving defense abilities.

“We turned the country into a nuclear power. We neither neglected this in the past, nor will we do so in future,” he added. “But the armed forces must abide by the Constitution and the instructions of the Quaid-i-Azam and stay away from politics.”
