Pakistan 5G call

During a Zong event, the Minister for Information and Technology (IT) Syed Aminul Haq has successfully made the first-ever 5G video call to Beijing from Pakistan. With this, Pakistan is edging closer to introduce the fastest 5G technology for cellular phone users.

A tweet shared by the ministry says, “The First ever fastest 5-G video call experiment has been carried out successfully in Pakistan. Federal Minister of IT and Telecommunication @SyedAminulHaque using #Zong4G made a 5G video call to Beijing today.”

The 5G in Pakistan was surrounded by rumors and with the latest development, it guarantees that improvement is being made to implement 5G technology in Pakistan as soon as possible.

The first 5G test call is truly a big step towards the betterment of the Telecom Industry in Pakistan as the country is moving forward in enhancing connectivity by bringing in new technologies.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) also made a regulatory framework on IoT and 5G recently. The aim behind this working group is mainly to predict the IoT forthcoming expansions in Pakistan and assess and recommend the thinkable regulatory options.

At the moment, the commercial 5G placement has many years to go, the calling through 5G technology is a first step which ensures that Telco’s are at work to arrange new technologies for Digital Transformation in Pakistan.

Currently, the 5G integration on mobile devices in the Pakistani market is not that high as only some of the flagships have 5G technology which means if 5G tech is to be deployed now, a lot of people will get benefit from 5G availability.

At the start of 2020, PTA issued a 5G test license to two telecom operators, Jazz, and Zong.
