HBL is the first bank in Pakistan to provide ‘full-featured’ banking services over WhatsApp. E.Ocean, a well-known cloud communication service provider, collaborated on the service.
HBL’s Conversational Banking introduced by E.Ocean’s WhatsApp Business Platform clients in 2021.
To use the service, HBL clients must send a message from the phone number on file with the bank to HBL’s WhatsApp number (021-111-111-425).
Customers of HBL will now be able to perform transactions and financial activities through the ‘full-feature’ set of services, in addition to the existing information services.
Here are some examples of transactions and services:
- Funds Transfer Between Banks
- Mobile Recharge Intra-Bank Funds Transfer (Prepaid & Postpaid)
- Payment of Utility Bills
- Block/Unblock a Debit or Credit Card Temporarily
