An application has been filed in the Lahore High Court that demands an immediate ban on the popular video sharing application TikTok in Pakistan.

TikTok has been the most famous application among teens that opened doors for their instant fame, many youngsters are making money via the app while some have lost their lives using the application.

Meanwhile, some accounts on TikTok are not suitable which carry some inappropriate stuff and due to this major fact, the demand has been put in Lahore High court to ban the Chinese TikTok application in Pakistan.

Advocate Nadeem Sarwar moved the application on behalf of a citizen who is a petitioner in the main petition pending with the court.

The lawyer contended that hearing of the main petition against the TikTok has not been fixed so far and the matter was of great importance. He said more than 10 deaths had been reported in the country in incidents relating to the users of the application.

He also said that this video-sharing app has become a source of promoting and spreading pornography. People share highly questionable content to get fame and followers on the social media app. He was referring to a recent incident where a girl was gang-raped by a group of friends whom she met from TikTok.

According to him, this application is great mischief of modern times, he said that the same app has been banned in Malaysia and Bangladesh for its inappropriate stuff and the app users have started using the platform to mock other people.

Many TikTok users are now protesting as they earn a heavy amount from it. Some famous TikTokers have raised their voices against banning this application, according to them, every inappropriate stuff gets removed from TikTok then what’s the point to ban it in Pakistan?
