According to the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, around 39,296 students were randomly tested for COVID-19 in 763 schools all over the Punjab province out of which 81 students tested positive.

From 39,296 random sampling, 38,716 students report came a negative, however, 81 students were turned out to be COVID-19 positive. From 81 affected students, 45 of them belong to Gujranwala, 12 students from Gujrat, 9 from Nankana Sahib, 2 each from Lahore and Bakhar and only one case has been detected from Dera Ghazi Khan.

Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman, the department secretary recommended the schools administration, teachers, and students to keep following the SOP’s set by the government and take protective measures to avert the revival of the coronavirus.

Apart from Punjab, the random sampling was also done in schools of Balochistan province on September 19 at different educational institutions, and 67 COVID-19 cases were detected during testing.

While random testing of coronavirus from 7th September to 18 September the provincial health department detected coronavirus cases at scores of schools. The corona positive case ratio has been 14.3 percent according to the health department.

The health officers conducted 950 COVID-19 tests of teachers, school staff and students in the school premises and found out 67 positive cases, whereas 403 tests case as negative. Meanwhile, the remaining 480 cases reports have not been made public yet according to the health department official’s statement.

In Pakistan, the total number of coronavirus cases have been detected are 308,217 and recorded 6,437 total death. However, the total number of active cases is 7,388, while 548 are in critical condition. Overall, the total number of corona test conducted by health officials is 3,306,515.
