UK mayor awards certificate to Armeena Khan for her public service

Armeena Khan, the Bin Roye actress has been awarded a Certificate for Outstanding Public Service by the Mayor of Burnley in the UK. 

The mayor of Burnley, British-Pakistani Wajid Khan honored her with the certificate as she announced by taking to twitter that, “So humbled to receive a certificate for outstanding public service at #Burnley Town hall today, Thank you Lord Wajid Khan and Lady Anam Khan for receiving my husband Fesl Khan and I today.” 

British-Pakistani Wajid Khan became member of the House of Lords earlier in 2021, he is also the youngest member of the opposition. He is also the youngest man to have ever been chosen for the office of mayor.

Armeena’s husband, British-Pakistani businessman Fesl Khan accompanied her. However, it is still not clear that what public service she received the certificate for but the couple have been actively supporting the Palestinian cause in the UK. As she had been observed posting in support of Palestine. 

Armeena Khan supports Palestinians 

She took to Instagram and wrote: “It was a cold day today, thank you to friends and others who came out to support. People from different background and religions came out in support for this peaceful gathering. This is just the beginning, we will keep the momentum going.” 

She also posted, “The names of the murdered children and babies went on for a full 4 mins. Since yesterday, 50 children have been added to the list. Husband told me it was very difficult for him to continue as he read the ages, these could’ve been our children easily. Please join us on @ustogetheruk so we can continue to inform you of everything that we will be getting upto. We have to come together, this isn’t just a Muslim matter anymore, this is a humanitarian crisis. @feslkhan thank you for inspiring me everyday, you are a good man Alhamdullilah.”
