Punjab PDWP approves six schemes worth Rs 35.17 billion

Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) Tuesday approved six development schemes of various sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 35.17 billion.

The 62nd meeting of PDWP of the current fiscal year 2021-22 was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Planning & Development Board Abdullah Khan Sumbal in which these schemes were approved.

The approved development schemes included

  • Establishment of University of Child Health Sciences at Lahore with Rs. 8,386.093 million
  • Establishment of Emergency and Trauma Centre at Jinnah Hospital Lahore with Rs. 7,751.464 million
  • Establishment of Mother & Child Care Block at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore, with Rs. 9,000.304 million
  • Dualisation of Dina-Mangla road, length 12.83-km, district Jhelum with Rs. 1,570.428 million
  • Dualisation of Sialkot-Pasrur road (length 27.35-km), district Sialkot with Rs. 5,072.389 million
  • Development of signal-free corridor from Main Boulevard Gulberg (Centre Point) to Walton Road (Defence Morr) with Rs. 3,395.880 million.

Moreover, the previous development schemes which were approved by PDWP of various sectors had an estimated cost of Rs 4.705 billion. 

The approved development schemes were as follows: 

  • Complete sewerage, Monitoring Evaluation, and TPV of ADP 2021-22 in ADP 2021-22 at the expense of Rs 475.978 million.
  • Drainage and water resource system in Gujrat City having the cost of Rs. 1,201.039 million.
  • City elevation package Minchanabad for sewerage, drainage, water supply, delivery of water filtration plants in villages of Tehsil Kamalia and Tehsil Pir Mahal District T.T. Singh having the cost of Rs. 589.400 million. 
  • Setting up street lights, and road Tehsil Minchanabad, District Bahawalnagar, with the expense of Rs. 928.362 million.
  • Launching of mega sewerage & tuff tile scheme municipal committee Uch Sharif, District Bahawalpur, with the cost of Rs. 698.776 million.
  • Building jumbo urban sewerage and water supply project for City Hasilpur, District Bahawalpur, having the cost of Rs. 812.232 million.
