Peshawar BRT wins Best Smart Ticketing award at Transport Ticketing Global

BRT Peshawar’s operator, TransPeshawar, succeeded to grab the Award for “Best Smart Ticketing Program” for 2022 at Transport Ticketing Global. The award was given to TransPeshawar for providing facilitation to the lives of a large segment of society by using innovative solutions. 

The winners were announced in the 10th annual awards which were held on 28th June 2022 in London. The Best Ticketing Program award identifies any public transport authority along with their technology partner that has initiated a successful smart ticketing program during the last couple of years. 

The network to which the program is applicable should assist 200,000 or more daily journeys. This prestigious award takes into consideration user adoption, sustainability, duration, and any other factors that make the project progress well.

LMKR, according to the sources, is the Technology partner of Transpeshawar for smart ticketing solutions & services for the Peshawar BRT system. 

TransPeshawar won the award among a group of finalists that included Thales, JakLingko, and Jatelindo Perkasa Abadi from Indonesia, MetroRio from Brazil, Cubic Transportation System and MTA from New York, The South Australian Public Transport Authority (SAPTA) belonging to Australia, Opal Digital Card and Contactless Transport Payments from New South Wales, while Innoforce belonging from Kazakhstan. 

Transport Ticketing Global is an international smart ticketing and mobility community that garnered a global audience of top smart ticketing and mobility experts from 71 countries. 

Moreover, the tenth annual Transport Ticketing Awards acknowledged the attainments and innovation, and collaborative efforts of the community. The award celebrated the incredible work done across the world to keep commuters safe and moving. 

A representative of LMKR had been presented the award on behalf of TransPeshawar at the Annual Transport Ticketing Global Summit 2022 held in London.
