Oppo Watch may launch alongside Reno 4 series in India this month

Oppo Watch

The first smartwatch from Oppo, the Oppo Watch, had made its debut back in March, in China with a design that is a blatant ripoff of Apple Watch.

According to technology news sources, the Oppo Watch will launch in India alongside the Reno 4 Pro smartphone after it bagged a certification from BIS, which is an Indian agency. The Oppo Watch is now expected to launch in India in the 3rd week of July.

Oppo Watch which look like an Apple Watch

From looking at the strap to design of the screen display this watch is completely the replica of Apple Watch. By saying the word replica does not mean it is a low-quality watch, the Oppo did make an excellent smartwatch. The way Oppo improved its smartphone lineup over the years is quite impressive and that’s what led them towards making a smartwatch.

The display of Oppo Watch is an OLED screen with curved edges and reduced bezels with a size of 46mm, the Apple Watch is at 44mm. The pixel density is 326ppo and the colors are very bright and vibrant and it is quite easy to see when you are outside.

There are only two physical buttons on the right side of the watch and everything else is controlled from the touchscreen. The watch straps are very convenient while taking off; a simple push-button will help in a release.

The Watch is made of aluminum; there is a steel version of Oppo Watch as well but comes in only one variant which is bright silver. The strap of the Oppo smartwatch is of black rubber which is quite comfortable.

The Android 8.1 version is running on the smartwatch which is customized by Oppo and named ColorOS watch. The smartwatch is quite simple to operate not like its competitors watch OS or Tizen. If you want to change the face just swipe right or left, by swiping up notification slide will show up and by swiping down you can access the settings.

The watch has a responsive behavior and everything runs very smoothly. The on-screen notifications can display lots of characters for example you can read a whole message of Facebook Messenger from the screen but cannot reply to it.

The selection of built-in apps on the Oppo smartwatch is also remarkable. In these built-in apps, you can have fitness tracking apps, weather conditions, timers, phone calls, watch the app store, and also Alipay service. You can also track down your sleeping order.

Although Oppo does have a lot of great features included in the watch the battery life is not that great. The screen is not always on display but still, you have to charge the watch every night. The Oppo claims that it will last for 40 hours but apparently it is not touching the value.

The asking price of the Oppo smartwatch is $215 in China and we will see what will be the price tag when it touches the Indian, US, or European markets.
