Morocco announces scholarships for Pakistani students

Pakistani students have been offered scholarships by the Moroccan Agency of International Cooperation (AMCI) for pursuing education in the public institutions of Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education of Morocco for the academic year 2022-23. 

As per the official sources, the last date for receiving nominations by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) is fixed as 20th September 2022.

The applicant must be a Pakistani/AJK national and permanent resident of Pakistan/AJK. Students with dual nationality holders are not eligible for this offer. The selected students from the scholarships would be able to start their academic studies in the universities of Morocco by the start of the academic year in September/October 2023. 

For the undergraduate program, the applicant must hold a minimum of 12 years of education (FSc/A-level). students must be between 19-23 years of age. For the master’s program, the candidate must have completed 16 years of education in relevant fields of study. For the Ph.D. program, 18 years of education in the relevant field of study is mandatory. 

Moreover, the mode of study is the French language and only scholars who have shown satisfactory results in the French language learning program will be able to get admission to the public institution of Morocco for higher education to pursue their scholarship/ training, in the French language. 

Applicants who do not have sufficient knowledge of the French language must undertake the French language course in their country by registering at an appropriate center dedicated to this purpose, like French Cultural Center, Alliance Francaise, etc. 

Meanwhile, in the linguistic fields, Islamic studies and Arabic literature are taught in Arabic, and applicants in these fields must have fluency in Arabic and in possession of a proficiency certificate. Applicants have to satisfy other requirements set by the concerned university in Morocco. 

The scholarships applicant must not be suspended/ expelled from the Kingdom of Morocco earlier due to any criminal activity. 

The applicants who succeed in the French language training program, organized in their country, should have documents including a long-term visa (student visa) and health certificate, prior to their arrival in Morocco for the academic year 2022-23.
