KIA Stonic Vs MG ZS – A Comparison

The arrival of the KIA Stonic has sparked the interest of automotive enthusiasts, thus we wanted to share with you the direct competitor of the KIA Stonic, with MG ZS. Please note that KIA Motors has not released any specifications or features for the Pakistani market; therefore, these are the specifications and features of the car’s top international variant. 

Segment and Body Type 

Both cars are B-segment subcompacts with a Crossover SUV body type, putting them on a level playing field in this category. 

Dimensions 

KIA’s compact crossover has a length of 4140mm, a width of 1760mm, a height of 1520mm, and a wheelbase of 2580mm. On the other hand MG ZS, is 4314mm long, 1809mm wide, 1611mm high, and has a 2585mm wheelbase. When it comes to ground clearance, the Stonic features 183mm vs 164mm for the ZS. 

Engine and Transmission 

In Pakistan, KIA is likely to offer a 1.4MPI engine with 100hp and 133Nm torque. In comparison, the MG ZS has a 1.5L NSE Plus engine that produces 112hp and 150Nm torque, giving it the upper hand. 

The Stonic has a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the ZS has a 4-speed automatic, making the Stonic the winner in this segment. Both automobiles have front-wheel drive (FWD). 

KIA Stonic-MG ZS Exterior 

In comparison to the MG ZS, the KIA crossover is slated to come with Bi-Function Projection Halogen Headlights. Stonic would also have 4-Strip LED DRLs and Halogen Fog Lamps, as opposed to London Eye LED DRLs and Halogen Fog Lamps in ZS. 

The Stonic will have 16-inch alloy wheels, whereas the ZS will get 17-inch alloy wheels. 

Interior 

The Stonic is likely to include a 4.2-inch LCD behind the steering wheel and a 7-inch Touchscreen, while the ZS will have a basic LCD and an 8-inch Touchscreen. Fabric is the seat material of the Stonic, although MG offers Leather in the ZS. Keyless Entry, Cruise Control, and 6-Way Manual Adjustment Driving Seats are standard on both automobiles. 

Furthermore, Stonic will have automatic climate control, whereas ZS will have manual climate control. 

Safety 

When it comes to safety measures, Stonic has two airbags vs four in the ZS. Both cars have Rear Parking Sensors, Traction Control, Hill Assist, Stability Control, ABS + EBD, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TMPS), which puts them on a level playing field in this category. 

Price 

The current pricing of the MG ZS is Rs 4,099,000, while the KIA Stonic is priced at

  • EX variant: Rs. 3,660,000
  • EX+ variant: Rs. 3,880,000
