IT, ITeS export remittances grow 20.75 percent as per PSEB report

The Federal Minister of Information Technology revealed on Twitter that IT and IT-enabled services export remittances including computer and call center services have reached $1.11 billion with the growth rate of 20.75 percent in the first 11 months of 2019-2020 fiscal year.

The IT and Telecommunication Minister Syed Amin Ul Haque tweeted “IT & IT-enabled services (#ITeS) export remittances comprising computer and call center services have surged to the US $1.11 billion at a #growth rate of 20.75% over the first 11 months of FY 2019-20 (July-May)”.

Workers’ remittances flowing into Pakistan have also jumped by 6 percent to an all-time high of $23.120 billion in the full 2019-2020 fiscal year.

Pakistan Software Exchange Board (PSEB) also publicized a performance report which shows encouraging statistics that specifies a positive position of the IT sector.

Increase in IT export remittances was possible due to govt steps

All this was possible with the help and extra efforts by the Ministry of IT and relevant industries.

Abdul Razzak Dawood an Advisor to the Prime Minister Imran Khan on Commerce and Investment also gave his statement on IT industry performance and said that the booming industry is one of the priorities of the government to encourage local as well as foreign investors in IT division.

Expressing his views on Twitter the advisor said “I’m glad to see the export remittance from IT and related services have seen a rise with a growth rate at 21 percent and bringing over a billion dollar in the country and that too only in 11 months of FY 2019-20”.

The commerce industry also presents its first E-commerce policy which will provide another boost to the IT industry. The Commerce Minister also appreciated the young entrepreneurs on their efforts and achievement in the IT field and expecting that the country will be successful in the future also.
