Google Introduces Apps Growth Lab In Pakistan To Aid Local App Developers

Google has unveiled its first-ever “Apps Growth Lab” in Pakistan aimed at supporting local app developers in scaling their businesses. The four-month hybrid education program is intended to help identify high-potential app developers and companies looking to grow in the mobile app industry. The initiative is particularly aimed at early-stage gaming and tools and utilities app developers who have a company-owned Play store with at least one published app, a company-owned Google Ads account, and are prepared to start their user acquisition strategy with their in-house team.

Pakistan’s mobile market has been experiencing significant growth for the fourth consecutive year, with 3.52 billion app downloads in 2022, placing the country in the ninth position worldwide, according to a report by Data Darbar, which tracks Pakistan’s tech scene and startups.

The program “Apps Growth Lab” is founded on four main pillars: Build, Develop, Launch, and Scale. The “Build” phase seeks to assist participants in understanding global app and gaming opportunities and setting their company’s strategy. The “Develop” phase focuses on user-centric product development and using technology for long-term success. The “Launch” component teaches strategies to win the launch, set up monetization models, and maximize Google’s data tools for growth. Lastly, the “Scale” phase covers launching the app to the world and leveraging market and platform diversification strategies.
