Foodpanda as a leading company to promote female empowerment

Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) recognizes foodpanda as a leading company to promote female empowerment in Pakistan. foodpanda is one of the major domestic e-commerce and shipping companies accredited by Pakistan Employers Federation (EFP). It helps females to start their own small businesses.  It is one of the country’s ‘top 10’ organizations to empower women. This prestigious accreditation to foodpanda is part of EFP’s research.

In total, 250+ organizations that practice and empower women approved this organization. It conducted a research aimed at understanding the difference between different companies and how companies have introduced gender inclusive policy reforms among themselves to promote women’s entrepreneurship. Research was also inclined towards designing EFP’s national publication on women’s empowerment that will help to understand and create avenues for women empowerment more. It also contain top 10 Business cases selected from 250 companies including foodpanda. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer foodpanda, Muntaqa Peracha commented on performance: “I am very proud to be able to empower so many women.”

It has created unique and wide range of opportunities across the country for females. Women’s are challenging and changing social stereotypes through foodpanda business and making strong progress in the world of business and e-commerce. Therefore, they are providing a great role model and a bright future for others as well. “Foodpanda is committed to advancing the women’s empowerment agenda and stakeholders at all levels are helping by providing sustainable livelihoods earning opportunities through our platform.” she further added.

While cooperating with the International Labor Organization, EFP launched a campaign to empower women with funds from Japanese government’s PSR/STRIDE project designed around promotion of active participation by women at the company-wide level fulfilling Policy Advocacy and Entrepreneurship, Campaign Goals. This will help to pave the way for an equal tomorrow.
