The office of the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad reported that the Federal Excise and Taxation Department with the association of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to inaugurate a doorstep vehicle registration service.
According to the shared information from the representative of the department, the registration team will also provide registration number plates to all the car owners at their doorstep.

The announcement of the doorstep vehicle registration service was made back in May 2020. The Director of Excise and Taxation Department at that time stated that the step is being taken in order to provide comfort to the citizen and ease the registration process during the period of COVID-19, and also to encourage people to register their cars with the government databases so that users don’t have to drive their cars unregistered and avoid facing difficulties after vehicle theft.

The doorstep vehicle registration service can be availed from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. Regarding registration of vehicles, the director said that all the car owners who enrolled in the service will be able to register cars at their specified residence. To perform the activity of the registration process an officer from the Excise Department and a member from the NADRA will contact the applicant.
The authorities claimed that through registration service, the government inclines to smooth the process for its citizens, apart from that the officials from the relevant department also provided phone numbers from where citizens can directly contact with the car registration service supervisors.
