Speculation started right after the announcement of the very unusual name by Elon Musk and also that the name is against the law of California State where they are living at the moment. According to the law in California, you cannot use other than 26 letters of the alphabetical character of the English language when you are choosing a name.

The newborn baby name was “X Æ A-12” but after a few weeks the couple decided to change it a little bit to “X Æ A-Xii”. The new name was revealed by Grimes on Twitter when a fan commented asking a question regarding the name.

Obviously, the fans are desperate to know how to pronounce the baby’s name so Grimes broke down the meaning of each character of the name.

She says; “X” stands for “unknown variable”.
“Æ” is Elven spelling of AI, and in Japanese the word known as “Love” and in some other language also.
“A-12 predecessor of SR-17 an aircraft which don’t have weapons, defense system, non-violent but just speed.

“A” in the name represents “Archangel” which is the favorite song of her.

With the explanation of characters, fans are still curious how to pronounce the name so here both parents came up with a different interpretation.

Grimes wrote on Instagram that “it’s just X, simple letter, followed by A.I, the way you pronounced it in normal days A.I”.

And on the other side, Elon Musk said in a podcast with Joe Rogan regarding pronunciation that ”I mean it’s just X, the letter followed by Æ which can be pronounced as ASH and then A-12 is my contribution”

Besides the new baby boy, Elon Musk has five children in total. Griffin, Xavier, Damian, Saxon and Kai from previous marriage life.
