Covid-19 vaccination center to be established at ICCI

The Islamabad District Health Office is going to set up a Covid-19 vaccination center in collaboration with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI). 

While visiting the office of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday, district Health Officer, Islamabad Dr. Zaeem Zia has said that the vaccination in the city has minimized the positivity ratio of Covid-19 cases from 19% to 1.6% due to the regular and in the time vaccination process.

He said that 30% of the population of Islamabad has been vaccinated so far and it was the target that the vaccination to 70% to 80% of people of the city would be done to improve the immunity and get rid of lockdown and other kinds of restrictions.  

He informed that the District Health Office is going to establish a Covid-19 vaccination center in collaboration with the ICCI at the premises of ICCI’s office. He further said that this will help in vaccinating the maximum number of people in the business community which will ultimately help in the growth of business activities.  

He discussed the requirements and mechanism of setting up a vaccination Centre at ICCI. Dr. Zaeem said that the vaccinated people have the least chances of transmitting the virus to others therefore, maximum people should go for the vaccination to control the spread of Covid-19.   

He also said that Additional District Health Officer Dr. Fawwad Kahlid would be the focal person to work with ICCI for setting up the vaccination center here. Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, the President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that they would fully cooperate in establishing the vaccination center.  

He suggested that District Health Office in collaboration with the ICCI should also set up the vaccination centers in the main markets, Centaurus and Giga Mall as a big number of people visit these areas daily and it would help in vaccinating the majority of people rapidly. He added that ICCI would coordinate with market associations and industries to invite members of the business community and their employees for vaccination.
