China’s Hunan Sunwalk to invest huge in Pakistan’s telecom and fiber infrastructure

A multi-billion dollar Chinese company Hunan Sunwalk Group is striving to invest in telecom infrastructure and fiber business in Pakistan, specifically in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. The news was revealed by the Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Sunwalk Group, Afshaan Amin. 

Amin underlined that Sunwalk’s investments shall improve broadband proliferation in Pakistan for the digital revolution not just for the Business-to-Business (B2B) sector but will also help government and enterprises business, including end users. 

She further stated that through the upcoming data digital demand and the addition of 5th generation mobile technology, Sunwalk Group ensures to play a key role and become the first choice of optic fiber and backhaul connectivity all over Pakistan.

Established in 2000, Hunan Sunwalk Group is involved in telecommunication infrastructure businesses. Its headquarter is found in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. It has a technology-based, diversified private enterprise with an established business profile in China, the United States, Southeast Asia, and Europe. 

Moreover, Afshaan Amin is a Pakistani entrepreneur who has just been appointed as CBO in ‘Hunan Sunwalk Group’. She has a vast experience in the telecommunication, energy, and banking sectors on the domestic and regional levels. She did her MBA degree from Greenwich University. 

In a similar development, the Japanese delegation last year also expressed keen interest in investing in the IT sector.  During the meeting, both sides agreed to scale up cooperation in the field of the IT sector. The Japanese side shared the increasing demand for skilled human resources in Japan while the Pakistani side also elaborated on the potential of Pakistani HR, IT companies, and startups. 

The federal secretary said that the IT sector of Pakistan has huge potential and both countries can learn from each other’s experience in the area of information technology. In addition, member IT and PSEB MD informed the Japanese delegation about the efforts of the Ministry of IT & Telecom to enhance the IT sector in Pakistan.
