4 housing schemes declared illegal by RDA

The ongoing crackdown on illegal housing schemes continues under the leadership of RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmud Murtaza along with Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Director Mohammad Saif Anwar Jappa, and the Department of Urban Planning and Transportation Engineering (MP&TE). The RDA has already filed First Information Reports (FIRS) for two illegal housing projects in Rawalpindi, namely Mivida City and Abdullah City on Chakri Road.

Advertising these projects would consider as an attempt to deceive people on their part. RDA has also filed FIR’s against three illegal housing schemes, namely Chak Beli Road, Rawalpindi, Budget Agro Farms and Countryside Farms in Kalyam City of Rawat. The public has also been informed particularly about Green Lake City is a fake housing project and yet they are promoting it on social media. The RDA warns that anyone without obtaining the required NOC from the RDA should not set up a residential project, apartment project, commercial building, etc. within the RDA’s controlled area.

If they would try to do any type of advertising, marketing and development of such projects by advertising agencies, limited liability companies, citizen-owned, etc. would be considered illegal. Therefore, the RDA advises against investing in illegal housing schemes in the interest of the public and warns them to be cautious. In addition, as instructed by DG RDA, MP&TE Directorate urged the sponsors to stop promoting unauthorized/illegal housing schemes in print/social media and contact RDA to obtain NOC approval of the projects under the Act.
