The much-anticipated metro bus service from Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport is expected to become operational next month (April 2022).
As metro buses are likely to reach the country by end of March 2022 or early next month through sea consignment from China. In this regard, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is taking all possible measures to offer the best facilities to the people of Islamabad which includes the initiation of the metro bus service from Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport.
The details show that third-party pre-shipment inspection of buses from Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport has been finalized in China. These buses will be sent to Pakistan on March 15, 2022 and will arrive in Pakistan within 20 days. Likewise, the pilot testing of the Metrobus bus service will be started in the first week of April.

Moreover, a total of 30 buses will be running on this track (Orange Route) having the last station adjoining Chungi No. 26 before the Islamabad Airport. These buses have been painted with orange color to suit the Orange Route.
At this event, the management of the Capital Development Authority said that the initiate of this facility will give modern and quality travel services to the citizens of Islamabad.
“It will improve considerably the transport system in the federal capital,” a spokesman of CDA said.
Referring to its construction, the Metro Bus route from Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport was built in the year 2016-17, which moves beside the sidelines of Srinagar Highway toward New Islamabad International Airport. Though, the stations were incomplete and the present government supplied the funds for the completion of this project.
It is worth mentioning that Previously, Capital Development Authority had announced to inaugurate the metro bus service on March 23, 2022, but due to the delay on the part of the manufacturing company caused the inauguration to be thrust ahead.
