Ramiz Raja Accepts PCB Chairman Post
According to Cricbuzz, former Pakistan cricketer and prominent pundit Ramiz Raja has accepted the position of Chairman of the PCB.
The website reported Ramiz Raja as saying, “The goal is to reset Pakistan cricket’s GPS and would be in quest of excellence.”
The decision was reached today, according to Cricbuzz. After meeting with the prime minister three days prior, he informed the website, “My proposals have been delivered to him (Imran Khan). He’ll make a phone call.”
Ramiz Raja told another news channel that he was informed of his appointment as the new chairman of the board via a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
“I will address a news conference after being elected — as the next chairman — by the board of governors,” he added, adding that he had many plans for PCB.
Mani Excuses Himself From Continuing Work As PCB Chairman
Ehsan Mani resigned as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday, only days after meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is also the PCB’s patron-in-chief.
Ehsan Mani stated in an interview with a news channel that he is no longer interested in serving as chairman of the PCB.
When asked if he had any suggestions for the prestigious position, he said the details would be given by the Prime Minister’s Office.
In response to another query, Mani stated that he does not wish to continue as chairman of the PCB. The current PCB chairman hung up the phone, indicating he’d spoken everything he needed to say.
According to sources, PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan has been temporarily granted extra authority of the chairmanship as per the board’s constitution.
