Pakistan becomes permanent member of SCO Youth Council

The office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared that Pakistan has become a permanent member of the SCO Youth Council.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) shared the news via Twitter account that Pakistan has become the newest and permanent member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Youth Council.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar attended the SCO meeting last year as an observer and decided to participate in the Youth Council activities along with a positive contribution for Council.

Usman Dar via a video message on Twitter said that “from now onwards Pakistani youth will represent the country at Shanghai Cooperation Organization Youth Council meetings and also exchange programs. The young generation of Pakistan also takes part in developing skills sets under different programs in the SCO Youth Council”.

Pakistan as member of SCO Youth Council will open new opportunities and empower the youth

The Federal Government was working for quite a long time to get the membership of the Council since Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted to take the initiative for the youth of country.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister also revealed that the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi along with other MoFA officials also contributed to grab the Council membership.

As per the reports by international news agency Xinhua, specialists in the country consider that membership will open new international opportunities and empower the young generation economically and socially. The Youth Council also assists its members to find employment or provide business opportunities in different sections from around the world.
