Malala Yousafzai Joins TikTok To Promote Her Charitable Work

The Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has joined the popular short video sharing platform TikTok to appeal for donations to her charitable fund.

Malala Yousafzai, the 23-years old girl, who graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, signed up for the TikTok app to gather donations to her charity the ‘Malala Fund’, formed to help pay for the education of girls in war-torn countries.

While posting her first video, the Nobel Laureate stated that “My favourite things are Shoes, comedy and reading books.”

Education activist said, “Hi Tik Tok. My name is Malala Yousafzai.”

“I am 23 years old and I’m a girl’s education activist. Some of you might already know me, you might have heard my UN speech or might have read my book, ‘I am Malala.”

“Some of you may not know me yet so I will introduce myself,” she added.

“I am a recent graduate from Oxford University, I like shoes, comedy, reading books and I also do campaigning and advocacy for twelve years for education and safe quality of education for all girls around the world.”

Malala urged her Tiktok audience to contribute to the fund on ‘Giving Tuesday’, a fundraising campaign in the United States (US). The video received thousands of likes and comments.

She is the youngest person to claim the Noble Prize which she won in 2014 upon her campaigning for children’s rights.

Born in Swat, Malala Yousafzai had an astonishing recovery after she was shot by the Taliban while riding a school bus in 2012.

In 2013, she was named one of the most influential people in the world by Time Magazine.

After her operation, she moved permanently to Britain where she continued her studies and graduated from Oxford University.
