DC drops Henry Cavill from new Superman film

Less than two months after making an announcement that he would be returning to the role of Superman, actor Henry Cavill has been dropped by the new DC Studios executives.

I just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran, and “It’s devastating news for everyone.  After all, I won’t be coming back as Superman “explained Cavill.

This news isn’t the easiest to share after the studio instructed me to do so back in October, before they were hired, but that’s life.

However, he claimed there were no problems in the relationship.

“An event that takes place is the changing of the guard. I value that “In his Instagram post, he added.

“James and Peter need to create a universe. I send my best wishes and luck to them and everyone else involved with the new universe.”

Late in October, just after Cavill made a surprise appearance as the Man of Steel during the credits of the Dwayne Johnson movie Black Adam, Gunn and Safran took over DC Studios.

“I wanted to make it official that I am back as Superman,” the British actor said in a video that he later posted to his website. He went on to say that the Black Adam cameo was “only a very tiny glimpse of what was to come.

Henry Cavill as James Bond

Cavill portrayed the illustrious character in the 2013 Man of Steel movie, Batman v Superman with Ben Affleck in 2016, and Justice League the following year.

Some fans have speculated that, as a result of the news, the actor is now available to play James Bond, should the casting director came calling.

Late in October, 39-year-old Henry Cavill also declared his intention to leave Netflix’s The Witcher. Liam Hemsworth will step in to fill his shoes.

Peter and I have a DC slate ready to go, about which we couldn’t be more thrilled. We’ll be able to reveal some exciting details about our first projects at the start of the new year, Gunn wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

“Superman is one of the people on the list. Henry Cavill won’t be portraying Superman because the first portion of our story will center on a different period in his life.

But we just had a fruitful meeting with Henry, and we’re big admirers, and we talked about a lot of intriguing potential ways to collaborate in the future, he continued.
