Coronavirus vaccination centres in Punjab will operate in two shifts during Ramadan

The Punjab Health Department has said that all coronavirus vaccination centres in Punjab will be operated in two shifts during Ramadan. 

On Tuesday, the Punjab Health Department said that coronavirus vaccination centres in the province will operate in two shifts during the holy month of Ramadan. According to a spokesperson of the health department, the first shift at covid vaccination centers will be from 10am to 4pm and the second from 9pm to 1am. Timings will be followed all over the province. 

The health department also said that the two shifts will begin on the first of Ramadan and the new working hours will apply to all coronavirus vaccination centres in the province. 

Moreover, People of the country seems reluctant to follow SOPs and so positive cases are continuously increasing. On Monday, Pakistan recorded its highest coronavirus death toll in a single day. The country reported 118 deaths from coronavirus, making it the country’s highest death toll since June 29 last year. 

Out of the reported 118 deaths, majority were from Punjab followed by KPK. Both provinces are the worst hit by the ongoing third wave of COVID-19.

As per the daily data issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) showed, that 50,520 tests were conducted in the country, out of which 4,318 returned positive. 

Furthermore, the country’s highest death toll from the virus to date was on June 19 at 153 deaths. 

Now till today’s date, the figure of new positive patients has taken the nationwide tally of coronavirus cases to 729,920. Out of those, Sindh has 269,474 cases, Punjab 252,974, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 100,275, Islamabad 66,983, Balochistan 20,397, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 14,687 and Gilgit Baltistan 5,130. 

Out of the total number of cases, the active cases in Pakistan is now at 76,034.
