Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to Convene for Ramadan Moon-Sighting Tomorrow

Ramzan transmissions

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, March 22 in Peshawar for the sighting of the Ramadan moon. The committee will be chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir and will gather in the building of Auqaf Department.

The purpose of holding the meeting in Peshawar is to reach a consensus on the sighting of the crescent of Ramadan on the same day across the country. In addition to receiving calls for evidence, the committee will also invite people from the private Ruet committee to record their statements. The committee will cross-question those providing evidence to ensure its accuracy.

Meetings of zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees will also be held in their respective offices. The committee for Islamabad will meet in the building of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

An official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs expressed the desire to create consensus on this issue so that the holy month of Ramadan falls on the same day throughout the country.

Stay tuned for further updates on the moon sighting and the start of Ramadan.
