Bilal Lakhani becomes first Pakistani to win PR 40 under 40 award

Bilal Lakhani has become the first Pakistani to win the PR 40 Under 40 Award by PRWeek, a trade magazine that covers the public relations industry. 

Lakhani, a PR industry veteran, tweeted to express his wonder, “Just heard news that I’ve won the PR 40 Under 40 Award by PR Week, becoming the first & only Pakistani to win a PR 40 under 40 award, one of the highest honors in the industry,” Bilal said in a tweet from his official handle. 

For over a decade, Bilal Lakhani has played key roles in designing and executing communication strategies for prominent multinational corporations.

Bilal said in a follow-up tweet, “What I’m most grateful for is that I started my Communications career in Karachi, Pakistan and won this honour in New York City today. Kinda overwhelmed at the moment. PR 40 under 40 recognizes individuals who are redefining the role of communications, PR and marketing.”  

Meanwhile, Planning Minister Asad Umar in a tweet congratulated Bilal, said youngsters like him showed that Pakistanis can compete with the best. 

“Well done @MBilalLakhani. Proud of you. Youngsters like you and @agentjay2009 jibran ilyas showing with their success in the US that pakistani’s can compete with the best and win. Keep it up” 

PTI Senator Fasial Javed Khan also felicitated him for winning the prestigious award. 

“Congratulations to Bilal Lakhani upon becoming first Pakistani to win PR 40 under 40 award,” he wrote on his official Twitter handle. 

“PR 40 under 40” recognizes individuals who are redefining the role of communications, PR and marketing.
