Gilgit-Baltistan government has sent a summary to the federal government for approval of 3,500 new posts in the region’s police department.

On Wednesday, Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid Khan while addressing the annual police darbar at the Police Recruitment and Training Centre, Gilgit, disclosed that a summary has been sent to the federal government for approval of 3,500 new posts in the police department.   

CM further said that his government had planned to provide Rs 14,400 annual uniform grant to the policemen from constable to sub-inspector rank. 

Moreover, like other parts of the country, monthly risk allowance from Rs 1,600 to Rs 2,000 will also be paid to constables up to the rank of inspector, he added.

He also announced that Rs 10 million would be granted to the families of the martyred policemen from the ranks of constable to inspector, he added that from DSP/ASP rank Rs 15 million and Rs 20 million would be paid to the families of the martyred SPs and other senior officers, under a package for the martyrs of Gilgit-Baltistan police. 

He said sons of the police martyrs would be recruited in the police department as assistant sub-inspectors. 

He further added by saying that required vehicles would be provided to expand and advance the police efficiency. Moreover, the record of the GB police stations was being computerized.

Moreover, GB CM while addressing a high-level meeting on the utilization of development budget in accordance with economic principles said that public service delivery should be improved.
