Seven Soldiers and a Civilian Martyred In Terrorist Attack In Balochistan

Seven Pakistan Army soldiers and a civilian were martyred in an attack on a Frontier Corps camp in the Muslim Bagh area of North Balochistan on Friday. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), six well-equipped terrorists were killed in the complex clearance operation, which also involved a hostage rescue situation. Six individuals, including a woman, were injured in the attack.

The ISPR added that three families were rescued from a residential block during the operation, which lasted for several hours. The terrorists had not even spared children of their horrendous approach. The statement maintained that necessary intelligence follow-up would continue to trace the terrorists’ connections and arrest facilitators, and expose their sponsors.

The security forces conducted the complex clearance operation to corner the terrorists into a building complex, under the supervision of the Commander 12 Corps. A heavy exchange of fire took place between the terrorists and the security forces during the operation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his “deep grief and sorrow” over the martyrdom of Pakistan Army soldiers and a civilian during the operation against terrorists. He expressed his sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for the early recovery of the injured people. The premier said that the armed forces of Pakistan were “fully committed to eradicating terrorism, and the entire nation was standing with their security forces.”

Balochistan has been a region of conflict and unrest for years, with separatist militants and extremist groups frequently launching attacks against security forces and civilians. The recent attack is yet another example of the continuing security challenges faced by Pakistan in the region.

The security forces, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart all attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan. The sacrifices of the martyred soldiers will not go in vain, and the government and the security forces will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the people of Balochistan.
