Pakistan and Belgium Fortify Ties in Second Bilateral Political Consultations Session

Representatives from Pakistan and Belgium convened for the second Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) session. The dialogue centered around fostering collaboration at international platforms, including the United Nations, and discussing pertinent regional and global developments.

Pakistan’s delegation was headed by the Additional Foreign Secretary for Europe, Ambassador Muhammad Saleem. On the other side, Ambassador Jeroen Cooreman, Director General of Bilateral Affairs at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the Belgian team, as per a press release from the Foreign Office.

The dialogue offered an opportunity for the two parties to examine the full range of their bilateral relations. The meeting helped set the tone and determine the future course of action for their mutual engagement and cooperation for the following year.

One significant outcome of the consultations was the consensus to make the Bilateral Political Consultations an annual event in their bilateral engagement. Both sides agreed to schedule the next round of talks in Brussels next year, at dates that would be mutually convenient.
