KIA Picanto 3rd Generation Specs And Features Revealed With 2nd Facelift

The KIA Picanto has received a significant makeover for 2023, with a fresh new look and updated technology. Here’s everything you need to know about the revamped Picanto.

The new KIA Picanto showcases a completely redesigned exterior that sets it apart from its predecessor. The headlights now sport a sleeker design, reminiscent of the flagship EV9, and seamlessly integrate into a strip across the bonnet. The GT-line version flaunts a sportier lower bumper with larger air intakes, adding a touch of dynamism to its appearance. Despite the changes, the Picanto retains its signature boxy shape. The base model comes with 14-inch alloy wheels, while higher trim levels offer the option to upgrade to 15 or 16-inch alloys, allowing for personalization.

At the rear, the new Picanto features slimmer tail-lights that seamlessly blend into a full-width light bar—a luxurious feature usually reserved for larger cars. The lower bumper has also been redesigned, complementing the overall refreshed look of the car. Additionally, the Picanto proudly displays Kia’s new logo, further enhancing its modern appeal.

Inside, the new Picanto maintains its familiar interior design while introducing notable technological upgrades. One of the most significant changes is the inclusion of an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard across all trim levels. Previously, this feature was only available on mid-spec models and above. The car also boasts a new digital instrument cluster, adding a touch of sophistication to the cockpit.

Under the hood, the new Picanto will continue to offer the current 1.0-litre non-turbocharged engine, ensuring a smooth and efficient driving experience. Additionally, a new 1.2-litre engine will be introduced, although the power figures for this engine have yet to be confirmed. Both engines will be available with a choice of a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed automatic transmission. To prioritize safety, Kia has equipped the Picanto with features such as blind-spot monitoring and automatic emergency braking.

While the exact pricing for the new KIA Picanto in the UK is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to hit the market later this year. The entry-level model may be discontinued, but the additional standard equipment in the new model suggests a slight increase in starting price, likely around PKR 33.5 – 38.3 lacs (*Ex-Factory Price)

Overall, the revamped KIA Picanto is set to make a lasting impression with its fresh exterior design, upgraded technology, and enhanced driving experience. Whether you’re navigating city streets or embarking on a weekend adventure, this little car is ready to deliver style, comfort, and reliability.
