Imran Khan's Arrest Sparks Protests and Traffic Jams Across Pakistan

The sudden arrest of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan has triggered unrest among his supporters, resulting in traffic blockades at several major avenues in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The blocked roads include Murree Road, Faizabad, and Koral Chowk, as well as those near G10 and G11 sectors.

Social media updates indicate that the protests will soon become countrywide, with demonstrations scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM. In response, the Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) has imposed Article 144 in the city, warning that strict action will be taken against those who do not comply.

The ICTP has already diverted traffic from Faizabad, Khanna, and Koral towards Lethrar Road and Peshawar Road due to protests. Furthermore, the traffic is expected to face disruptions near Saien Mirchu Darbar stop at Srinagar Highway.

The situation is still developing, and more people are expected to join the protests across the country. Therefore, all travelers are advised to stay up-to-date and plan their travels accordingly.
