Driving License Applicants Get Major Relief in Punjab

Under specific directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. Usman Anwar, the driving licence application procedure has been expedited at driver’s licence offices throughout Punjab.

A media report claims that the government has eliminated the file system from the process of issuing driving licences. The applicants can now apply for a driving license by presenting their National Identity Cards (NICs).

The agency has additionally permitted applicants to take driving exams in their personal vehicles. To make the application procedure quick and easy for applicants, several measures have been adopted as part of the paperless driving licence issuance system.

24-Hour Service

In six of the most populated cities in the province, Punjab Police announced in February that a 24-hour driving licence service would be available. Citizens can receive their licences from these centres in as little as 24 hours, even after business hours.
