3 New Low-cost Housing Schemes Approved by PHATA

During the 86th board meeting of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA), Mian Aslam Iqbal, Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development agreed upon the development of three new low-cost housing schemes. The main purpose of these housing schemes is to offer locals access to top-class homes with affordable rates. These societies are listed below:  

  • Campbellpur Greens in Attock  
  • Al-Rasheed Garden in Gujranwala  
  • Al-Noor Garden Residencia Sangla Hill  

Monitoring Committee:  

For this, the government has also made a monitoring committee to supervision of the housing developments. During the meeting, the delegates also deliberated upon the decision to chalk out the development of pension laws for PHATA employees, along with other administrative issues being faced. They have also reserved a 20% quota for the Naya Pakistan Housing Program (NPHP) in each of these housing societies.

The Minister strained on the need of supporting developers and the significance of making it easier for developers to quicken development work in order to encourage a smooth working environment. He cleared out that there would be no room for bribery, corruption or dishonesty in this team which he proposed for the project.  

Speeding up the Construction Work:  

In a meeting, Mian Aslam Iqbal further said that the Naya Pakistan Housing Project (NPHP) is a top priority for the province administration and added, “I propose to complete as many housing schemes as possible in the shortest amount of time.”    

The housing minister wanted these projects to be completed as soon as possible by carrying out the construction process as early as possible. This will provide people with low cost and affordable housing schemes with all the basic facilities. He futher said, “Low-cost housing schemes should be finished quickly by working day and night.” He also briefed that there will be a special cell to support and encourage Pakistanis to engage in the real estate market.   

Mian Aslam Iqbal further stated that the government’s precedence was the Naya Pakistan Housing Project Developers involved in PHATA housing schemes must be given as many resources as possible in order to complete this project as soon as possible, he instructed.

Construction of a Special Cell:  

In order to engage Pakistani Foreigners in Real Estate business, he proposed the construction of a special cell that will help to develop real estate market in Pakistan as well as bring remittances.
