Sindh Government

Provincial Assembly of Sindh is the house of elected representatives of the people of Sindh established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan. Under this article, the total number of seats for the Assembly through direct vote is 168, of which 29 seats are reserved for women and 9 seats for non-Muslims.The Constitution of 1973 is federal in nature, therefore, a constitutional division of power between the central government and the provincial governments.

has provincial autonomy and consists of a unicameral legislature, which means consisting of a single chamber, as a legislative assembly. Members are elected for a term of five years, unless the assembly is dissolved soonerGeneral Election were held on July 25, 2018 and first session of the Assembly of Sindh was held on 13th August, 2018. Election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker for the Assembly of Sindh was held on August 15, 2018. Mr. Agha Siraj Khan Durrani was elected as the Speaker of the Assembly of Sindh (2nd time) and ms. Rehana Laghari was elected as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Sindh.

Agha Siraj Durrani

Agha Siraj Durrani (born 1953) is a Pakistani politician who is the current Speaker of the Assembly of Sindh, in office since 2013.

He was the Speaker of the 12th Assembly of Sindh. His father, Agha Sadaruddin, and uncle Agha Badruddin also served as speakers of the same assembly. He is ethnically Durrani Pashtun.

Rehana Leghari is a Pakistani politician who is the current Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Sindh, in office since August 2018. She has been a Member of the Assembly of Sindh, since August 2018. Previously, she was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from June 2013 to May 2018.
