Many technological improvements have occurred during the last century, culminating in a slow trend toward societal improvement. As such, space science has been a driving force behind this progress and has revolutionised the process.

The Institute of Space Technology (IST) is a federally chartered, HEC recognised, and PEC accredited degree awarding Institute (DAI) that was established in 2002 with the goal of providing students with specialised education in the fields of Engineering and Space Science in order to address emerging national and global issues in those fields. All courses at IST are delivered in accordance with international standards and are designed to help students develop critical thinking and analytical skills. State-of-the-art facilities, backed by a dedicated and highly qualified faculty, provide students with all of the tools they need to become specialists in their fields of study.

Due to the united efforts of its administration, professors, and students, IST has achieved incredible success in a short period of time, allowing it to stand out in the area of engineering and establish a national centre of excellence in space technology.IST is presently recognised as one of Pakistan’s top engineering universities/DAIs, and it is a leader in the field of space science and technology.

IST holds the distinction of being Pakistan’s only university to launch a satellite (iCUBE-1) into low-Earth orbit (LEO). Similarly, the Pakistan Engineering Council has made all engineering equivalent to the Washington Accord (PEC).
IST’s programmes are accredited at the Level-II, Substantially Accredited level. That indicates that an engineering degree from IST is comparable to an engineering degree from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Japan, and a number of other Signatory nations. All of IST’s science programmes are also adaptable to meet the changing demands and requirements of local and worldwide markets.

Our goal is to provide cutting-edge training facilities that will allow our students to gain valuable hands-on experience, which is critical in the professional world. With that in mind, the upgrade of the experiment and research facilities has been one of our most remarkable accomplishments over the previous year. Wind tunnels, both subsonic and supersonic, have been put up. With the addition of high-end servers and broad band internet access, IT facilities have been substantially strengthened.

The overall design, furnishings, and decor all contribute to the creation of an intellectual environment that encourages students to focus on their studies.
