Former Pakistani President (Late) Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan laid the foundation stone for the Dawood College of Engineering & Technology in 1962. In 1964, the Dawood Foundation established the College under the supervision of Seth Ahmed Dawood.
The Sindh Assembly passed Sindh ACT No. XII of 2013, converting it to a university, in March 2013. According to the ACT, the Syndicate, Senate, and Academic Council have academic and administrative control over the university. The Vice-Chancellor is the University’s Principal Executive and Academic Officer.
The university offers four-year degree programmes in engineering and five-year degree programmes in architecture.
Dawood University of Engineering & Technology ambitions to spend money on human capital for multiplied development in engineering information and practises, in addition to new frontiers in R&D, ensuing in a information-led economic system and a higher destiny for destiny generations.

Admission to the First Year Session 2017-18 is made in accordance with the policies and rules established by the University’s authorities from time to time. The rules mentioned in this prospectus are subject to revision by the competent authority as needed and without notice.
Candidate must have passed either the Higher Secondary School Certificate (H.S.C.) with optional subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (Pre Engg) group from any authorised Board of Education in Pakistan or an equivalent Foreign Examination recognised as such by the University.
The candidate should be no older than 22 years old.
