Islamabad Police launches WhatsApp service to lodge FIRs of missing items

The Islamabad Police has launched a new WhatsApp number so people can report lost and found items to accelerate the recovery process.

In this regard, Islamabad Police IG, Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, took the important step and illuminated that a WhatsApp number (0331-1114287) has been set up to let citizens report immediately any lost or found items.

He also requested the people to immediately contact PUCAR-15 and report any belongings that have been lost or found during travel.

Police IG added that related details of the lost items along with photos can be sent to the WhatsApp number so that the missing items can easily be returned to the actual owner.

The IGP said that Islamabad Police was doing its best to provide the best facilities to citizens at their doorsteps, adding that emergency services have also been included in the Safe City Project.

It is worth mentioning that Islamabad Police also has another WhatsApp number with the intention to provide a more efficient service to the residents of the federal capital.

The WhatsApp service helps Islamabad citizens to register complaints with Islamabad Police through WhatsApp number 0334-287-428-7 (033-ICTP-ICTP).

In February this year, the announcement regarding the Islamabad Police WhatsApp service was made by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) on their official Twitter handle.

“In order to make our services more easily accessible for the citizens, Islamabad Police is issuing its WhatsApp number.” he publicized in the video message.

“The citizens can register themselves with our number 0334-2874287 which is 0334-ICTP-ICTP, by sending a simple hi/hello,” the IGP informed, he went to inform that the moment people send a message to the Islamabad Police WhatsApp number, they are greeted by a menu of options.

Moreover, IGP Younus said that through the Islamabad Police WhatsApp service residents can easily contact the police about any service. For convenience, the services are available both in English and Urdu.
